Update NVivo license

This article will show you how to update your NVivo 10 or 11 license key

Instructions for:

 
  1. Start NVivo 11.
  2. Click FileHelpManage LicenseExtend License.
  3. Enter the new license key.
  4. Click OK.

Your NVivo license should now be updated.

 
  1. Start NVivo 10.
  2. Click FileHelpExtend License.
  3. Enter the new license key you received in your email.
  4. Click OK.
  5. A new window will open showing the Activation form; you must complete this in order to validate the new license key. Fill out the form and click Activate.
  6. A pop-up window will appear confirming that Your license has now been activated. Click OK.

Your NVivo license should now be updated.

 Where's my license key?
Your new license key should have been emailed to you, but if it hasn't then go to www.essex.ac.uk/it/isn/software and sign in. Click the appropriate NVivo product and Accept the license agreement. The license key will be shown on the next page and you'll also receive an email.

You have agreed to install only a single copy of this software for your personal use only. You may not modify, adapt, translate, rent, lease, resell, distribute, or create derivative works based on the software or any part thereof.


In no event will the University of Essex or its employees be liable to the user for any consequential, incidental or indirect damages arising out of the use of or inability to use the software.


You agree to delete this software once you are no longer a 'student at' or 'employed by' the University of Essex.

1. The Licensor hereby grants to the Licensee a non-exclusive and non-transferable Licence to use Product and Licensed Materials in the United Kingdom and those countries to which an agreement pertains on the terms and conditions stated herein and for the period specified in the Schedule from the date of delivery.


2.Product may be used by any employee, student or other persons authorised by the Licensee for the purposes of the normal business of the Licensee's organisation, whether or not they are located on the Licensee's premises. (Please see 1 above.)


Such use of Product includes the following:

2.1 Teaching;

2.2 Research;

2.3 Personal educational development;

2.4 Administration and management of the business of the Licensee's organisation;

2.5 Development work associated with any of the above.


General Exclusions:

2.6 Paid for consultancy or services leading to commercial exploitation of Product;

2.7 Work of significant benefit to the employer of students on industrial placement or part-time courses.

2.8 In 3.2.6 and 3.2.7 above, the Licensor may allow such use in return for acknowledgement of use of Product and/or for an agreed fee.
