Create or merge a Qualtrics account

Changes to Qualtrics accounts

We've moved Qualtrics to Single Sign On, which means you must now log in to Qualtrics using your Essex ID and password.

  • For new users: your Qualtrics account will be automatically set up as soon as you log in with your Essex ID and password. Previously the IT Helpdesk would have had to do this for you.
  • For existing users: you’ll need to merge your old account with the new system (you only do this once), and then log in using your Essex ID and password.

New user instructions

Follow these instructions if you don't have an Essex Qualtrics account.

  1. Go to https://essex.qualtrics.com
  2. Sign in with your Essex ID (you@essex.ac.uk) and password.
  3. You will see the following screen:
  4. Click I don't have a Qualtrics account. An account will be created for you.

Existing user instructions - merge your account

If you already have an Essex Qualtrics account, you must merge it with the new system. You only need to do this once.

  1. Go to https://essex.qualtrics.com
  2. Sign in with your Essex ID (you@essex.ac.uk) and password.
  3. You will see the following screen:
  4. Click I already have a Qualtrics account.
  5. You will see the following screen:
  6. Enter in your old account username and password, and then click Migrate Account.
